THE MIDNIGHT SALE craziness
“SHOPPING”
This one word is more than enough to brighten up anyone’s face
or lighten their mood when they are low. As the saying goes
“Retail therapy”, is by far the best of therapy to make
oneself feel more cheerful. Be it window shopping or any kind,
the word shopping is undoubtedly the happiest and most
positive word one can ever come across. Starting from a Re.1
candy to may be a Rs.20000 Michael Kors bag, shopping can give
us the utmost satisfaction at any point of time and specially
to women.
But when “SHOPPING” is accompanied by “SALE or DISCOUNT” then
it becomes one helluva of excitement, madness and craziness,
for people who are very fussy about spending money, also gears
up to grab all those goodness displaying the tag “Flat 50%
off”. Discounts are like the icing on the cake.
But then what happens if a mall starts off a 3 hour sale where
all the items and not any particular ones, are available at
flat 50% off?
This is amongst one of those very few days when a posh mall of
Kolkata, the very famous and classy Quest Mall located in
BeckBagan turned into a mini Burrabazar for three hours. In
17th June 2016, Quest Mall declared their midnight sale from
8.55pm till 12’o’clock in the midnight where all the products
were available for flat 50% discount. A DKNY bag whose
original cost is Rs. 7000, one grabs it for Rs. 3500!! What
more one can ask for?
As the clock struck 7pm, the roads started getting congested
with all the cars heading to Quest Mall. By 8pm Quest Mall was
full of buzz with a crowd of more than 5000 people waiting for
the shutters to open and the sale to begin. People started
queuing up outside the stores to get their hands on the
products first. As the sale started at 8.55pm the entire mall
was flooded with shoppers from all over Kolkata raising the
craziness degree few more notches above. By 12’o’clock almost
all the stores were out of stock with hardly any product left
for selling.
With a footfall of almost a lakh or more, the Quest Mall
midnight sale is one crazy thing which should not be missed.
For people who have missed out this time, no worries, as this
sale comes back after a gap of few months and you can just go
and shop your heart out.
