When the warbling and chirruping chestnut munias and yellow beaked blue

magpies come into your sparkling vision while each of your cells present on

your face and bare parts of your body get indulged in the hugs of mist coming

from the crystal clear cascade you would exactly know that you are right in

front of that mesmerising and captivating spot amidst the high mountains and

good smelling woods, that village which once witnessed a war between shiva

and king bhagsu who reigned the shepherd tribes called “gaddi”. Yes you are

at only one kilometre from the pretty little Mcleodganj, you witness the

phenomenal falls of bhagsu-nag.

High up as you go riding the slopes of the Himalayan range falling in the state

of himanchal Pradesh you will slowly and gradually keep falling in love with

those purple white showering flowers and adventurous steepness of the roads.

In one way you will almost lose your heart as well as mind to those amazing

moments. The kangra district is indeed a lucky place to treasure such beauty in

its vicinity, it surely must be proud of its great possessions and yes of course

grateful to the blessings of the famous kangra mata present there.

Enchanting of the Tibetan hymns would surely get you lost in the magical world

of yourself and some little great dreams of yours. After staying here for some

time you would surely feel the resonance of the singing bowls being tuned and

played out on the local bhagsu markets. You will surely want to possess one of

those metal bowls provided with some magical wooden log like stem to wind

around the rim of the bowls that would produce the soothing and fulfilling

humming kind of tone which is said to be the extending chants of the holy

“omm” which is believed to bring peace to us by calming down our battling

hormones and sinking thoughts.

The bhagsu village is sure to surprise you in every bit of its streets and houses.

The typical blueberry pastry will melt into the groves of your taste buds and

give you that sensational freshness required t flush out any ill experience. The

traditional cuisines here are very simple and exotic, they basically reflect the

food of the local tribes and houses. The “humus curry” is a very popular dish

here which is made by grinding the chickpeas, garlic, tahini and some other

spices and condiments together to make a paste form of the same which is a

blast of flavours and is a delicacy worth tasting. I must not forget the typical

“bhagsu cake” made with an exclusive cookie base topped with the layer of

sweet caramel and chocolate chips is a must try.

Bhagsu-nag is special for the tourists all round the year yet October to

November witnesses a fine flow of voyagers. the temperature is such an

amazing thing here, it just sets your mood to the best ever. The shiva temple is

the main attraction along with the waterfall. The higher climb the mountain

sides more is the serenity found.

Bhagsu-nag was a thief for me all the time, it always stole away my miseries

and made me feel my growth and happiness.
