CHILDREN’S DAY AT SAROJ GUPTA CANCER CENTRE AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Since our childhood, we have been celebrating 14th November in a special manner and receiving special gifts. But there are children who have been caged in the four walls of the hospital and spend their lives with the saline bottles. They hardly enjoy their lives since they suffer from excruciating pain and lead a life full of uncertainties.

This year like every other years, the paediatric department of Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre and Research Institute celebrated the Children's day  in order to bring some Joy and delight in the little lives.

On 14th November, the management of the hospital organized a drawing competition  and other cultural activities where some of the paediatric patients had participated in the events like recitation, song and dance. They entertained the audience  which included other patients and their family members, doctors and nurses with their talents.

The. Program was inaugurated by eminent personas like Sri Atin Ghosh, mayor in Council (Health) who donated some amount for the welfare of the kids suffering from the deadly disease, Rajib Das, councillor and was also attended by guests from various NGOs. The event was enlightened by the presence of Ms Iman Chakroborty and her team who enchanted  the kids and other guests by her magical voice. Prizes were distributed to the kids for taking part in the drawing competitions and their faces were lit up when they were handed over with toys and food packets after the cultural program.

These children who are mostly the patients of leukaemia, a type of blood cancer can be cured if detected early and treated properly. The institution takes special care for these kids who mainly belongs to the economically weaker section of the society and on this special day for the kids, the management has treated them in special ways and have made their monotonous painful lives a little happier and enjoyable.
